The range of designs and styles is very diverse. Classic religious motifs are, of course, just as feasible as sacred, modern sculptures. But portraits and images of children, animals and everyday objects are also frequently requested. Hence, no limits are set when it comes to the creative imagination of both the customer and the sculptor. The styles of modern sculpture range from classical, gothic and baroque to abstract and naturalistic sculpture.
One thing characterises all pieces, though: they are exclusively handcrafted and quite unique.
A trademark for exclusive handmade wood carvings
In order to give some protection to the creators of exclusively handmade wood carvings, the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce decided to certificate this method of work. This certification is carried out by affixing a duly registered trademark (a metal plate) onto the piece itself and then by issuing a certificate, which serves as complete and exclusive proof that the piece is handmade.
Once preparation is complete (by chipping), the mark is affixed to the base of the carvingby an expert from the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce. After the work has been finished and after a more thorough check, the expert fills out the corresponding certificate.
